How to sell a Gift Certificate

1.            From the main screen of Retail Pro, go to POS/Inventory>Point of Sale>Invoice

2.  Enter Customer information (if available), then hit the [END] key on your keyboard.

3.  Select “Print/Tender” on the bottom menu

4. In the “Change” column, enter the amount of the gift certificate in the gift certificate row, then enter the gift certificate number

 

5. In the “tender” column, the amount owed will be displayed, tender as you would a normal receipt, then hit the [END] key on your keyboard

6.   Click on “Print/Update” [F12], or “Update Only” [F11]

How to sell a Gift Certificate

It is important to remember that selling a gift certificate is just a straight tender exchange.  There is no need to enter a gift certificate as a line item.

1. POS -> Receipts -> New

2. Click the Tender button             

3. Enter the amount of the gift certificate as a negative amount.  This lets Retail Pro know that money is leaving the system.

4. Click the Gift button                                              and enter the gift certificate number (optional)

*Note: Retail Pro does not track gift certificate numbers.  Entering in a number is optional.

5. Enter the amount the customer is giving you in the undefined field.  Choose how the customer is paying for the gift certificate.

6. Print and Update the receipt
