Maintaining the Retail Pro Scheduler

 

Note: To use this Feature of the month, you must be familiar with the how to schedule tasks in the scheduler.  This does not teach you how to setup a polling schedule or how to schedule your reports to run for you.  This feature of the month will assist you in keeping the scheduler setup properly so that the scheduled tasks run when they are supposed to. Scheduler does not need to be run on every workstation, but only on stations that have tasks scheduled to run

 

 

HOW TO LAUNCH THE SCHEDULER MANUALLY

After going into Retail Pro, Go to the TOOLS menu at the top of the screen, then in the side menu select SCHEDULER

 

WHERE DOES SCHEDULER GO AFTER IT IS OPENED

 After Retail Pro SCHEDULER has been launched, it will add an icon  to the system tray down by the time

 

 

 

 

 

OPENING THE SCHEDULER

            Right-Click on the scheduler icon and select PROPERTIES, or double-click on the icon.  This will launch the scheduler

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

LAUNCHING THE SCHEDULER AUTOMATICALLY WHEN THE COMPUTER STARTS

Once you have created your scheduler, go to OPTIONS then select RUN ON STARTUP.  This will make it so that every time you restart the computer, scheduler will launch automatically.

 

CREATING A DEFAULT SCHEDULE

After the schedule has been created, you will want to mark it as the DEFAULT SCHEDULE so that every time the scheduler is launched, it will launched the save schedule

 

MONITOR FOR SCHEDULER

This will monitor for the scheduler while Retail Pro is running, and if it detects that it is turned off, will turn the scheduler back on for you (only turn on at workstations that run the scheduler)

 

- Go to OPTIONS on the top menu, then WORKSTATION PREFERENCES on the side menu. In WORKSTATION PREFERENCES, click on the plus sign next to SYSTEM and then highlight SCHEDULER

- In the main screen put a check next to MONITOR FOR AND RESTART SCHEDULER IF REQUIRED
