Expanding Inventory Row’s

  From time to time it may be necessary to expand the amount of inventory rows to allow more room for the input of additional inventory. This can be accomplished by using the RproDB tool.

 The following steps will show you how to expand your rows of inventory to the desired amount needed.

1. From the main screen in Retail Pro select TOOLS at the top.

2. From the side menu select the RPRO DB button.

3. A window will appear as below. In the Inventory rows: section the current amount of rows in inventory will be displayed.      

4. Next you can change the amount of rows to the new desired amount in inventory. NOTE that you should only add as many rows that are NEEDED to reduce the search time and time spent running reports.

5. Next click on the OK button.

6. Now you will see the message below. Click OK.

7. The next window is letting you know that your data files have been restructured. Click on CLOSE.

Congratulations, your new rows of inventory are now ready to be used!

Expanding Inventory Row’s

1. From the main screen of Retail Pro select PREFERENCES > SYSTEM.

2. You will need to have a high enough security password to enter system preferences.     

3. Next press <ENTER> on SETTINGS.

4. Now using the <DOWN ARROW KEY> on your keyboard, go to the INVENTORY section and press <ENTER>.

5. This will open and highlight the line in inventory that says “EXPAND/REDUCE INVNENTORY ROWS TO”. Press <ENTER>. A smaller box will appear.

6. Now type in the new amount of inventory rows to have in inventory and press <ENTER>. NOTE that you should only add as many rows that are NEEDED to reduce the search time and time spent running reports.

7. A message will quickly appear and disappear saying “the file will be expanded”.

8. Now you can press the <ESC> key three times. A progress bar will appear letting you that it is expanding the inventory and other related files.

Congratulations, your new rows of inventory are now ready to be used!
