Clean
House
Feature of
the Month June 2004
Clean House is
one of the most commonly overlooked features in RPRO. Just like the name,
it will keep your inventory tidy and accurately showing items you currently
sell. You may think that something that can do that would be difficult, but
its not. Follow the simple steps below to remove old inventory items out of
your inventory list, without deleting your much needed history.

The system will not allow you to
clean house on any item that the following apply:
-
You have on
hand company quantities.
-
The item is on
a PO, SO, or TO
-
The item is
part of a package or kit.
For Version 7
-
Go to
UTILITIES>CLEAN HOUSE. This will bring you into a list of your
inventory.
-
You can opt
to go into VIEW>ALL ITEMS to filter your inventory into a smaller
section such as DCS or VC (Make sure you press F2 to clear your filter
before starting). Press END to continue.
-
Then go to
AUTO MARK. This will put a check mark on all items that meet the
system’s criteria for deletion. You will want to double check what that
system has marked.
-
If there are
any items marked that you want to UNMARK. Go to EDIT, scroll down to
item, move to mark column, and then press ENTER. This will delete the
check mark.
-
Once both
you and the RPRO agree on what should be marked, you are ready to delete
those items.
-
Press
UPDATE. This will bring up your filter again. If you filtered before,
press END to continue. If you did not filter, now is your chance to
filter for certain items. Press END to continue.
-
It will ask
if you want to print items to be deleted. This option is yours
-
You will
then get a message telling you how many items will be deleted. Press any
key to continue. It will give you one last opportunity to change your
mind. Choose YES to continue, NO to stop.
-
If you
choose YES, it will start processing the changes

For Version 8
-
Go to
MERCHANDISE>CLEAN HOUSE
-
If you have
not already done so, add the “Obligated” column to the screen using page
manager.
-
Go to FILTERED
VIEW if you would like to narrow down the inventory you plan to clean.
This can be any field on your filter. Most common is DCS, VC, or Status
field.
-
You will now
be looking at only items you filter for.
-
Choose
MARK>MARK ALL from side menu
-
RPRO will mark
any item that meets its criteria with a green check mark in the item
number field.
-
If an item
doesn’t get marked, it is because it is “Obligated”.

The system will not allow you to
clean house on any item that the following apply:
1.
You have on hand company quantities.
2.
The item is on a PO, SO, or TO
3.
The item is part of a package or kit.
-
Verify all the
items “marked” are items you wish to delete. If you find one that has a
check mark that you DON’T want to delete, click on the green check mark
and it will take it off.
-
Once you and
RPRO agree on what items should be deleted, you are ready for the final
step.
-
On side menu
click on CLEAN.
-
It will bring
up a message asking if you are sure you want to delete these items. If you
are sure, click OK.
-
It will start
processing the items to be deleted. Once done processing, you will see
blank spaces where those items used to be

Although
items are deleted, the history of those items is stored in the RPRO files.
