| Before you decide which tags are for you, you will need to know the type of medium you are using. Below are explanations of the different types of mediums you may be using including the ways to identify which of the tags you are using, and finally the images, and descriptions of tags that we offer. |
| DT = Direct Thermal- uses heat through the printer head to print tags. The advantage of DT tags is: no ribbon needs to be purchased or loaded into printer. The disadvantage of DT tags is: tags are heat sensitive once on the merchandise (example; steaming clothes, tags directly in sunlight, florescent lighting). If exposed to these types of heat, the tags may fade or turn black and may not scan. |
TT = Thermal Transfer- uses ribbon to print tags. The advantage of TT tags is: no chance of fading, turning black or heat effecting the ability to scan. The disadvantage of TT tags is: must purchase and load ribbon into printer. Ribbon can run out during a print job.
Either way, the cost is about the same for either tag. |
